If you’re familiar with me and my practice, chances are we’ve had a moment to discuss, even if only briefly, what brought me into homeopathy. It wasn’t a personal healing experience with a homeopath, which is often the case for those who eventually become homeopaths themselves. Generally speaking, people are not accustomed to homeopathy or hearing much about it. I was actually no different. I didn’t encounter homeopathy until I was certain I wanted to be an alternative medicine practitioner of some kind. I wasn’t sure what that was going to be exactly, but I knew back then I was following a call to want to help heal the sick, in whatever capacity that can take, and to do it naturally.

After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota Duluth, I was fairly certain I wanted to further my education into the “alternative” medicine field, but I just didn’t know into what specifically. I researched and visited schools of Naturopathic Medicine, Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture, and even colleges of Chiropractic care. I had never even heard about homeopathy. The most exposure I had was looking at a giant book of natural medicine and home remedies back in high school and I saw a page or two on this really weird sounding thing called homeopathy. Honestly, it sounded too far-fetched. Highly diluted substances that can provide a curative effect on our bodies, and perhaps even our minds too? Yeah right! It was a page-turner then, and I didn’t think about it at all until much later.

After graduating college I took some time to travel and even did a service year in AmeriCorps *NCCC. That was a life-altering experience, for the better, yet I came back home to Minnesota still unsure of what I wanted to do next. All the while, the thought of becoming a natural health practitioner never left me. It took some time, but as I was researching schools of natural medicine and the like, I came across a school of homeopathy that was hosting an informational session coming up in a few weeks. I figured I didn’t have anything to lose, so I looked into it.

I didn’t know it at the time, but homeopathy was what I was looking for all along. My goal was, and still is, finding the deepest method of healing possible. What constitutes the deepest method for me, as I understood it then, was administering a medicine that can heal all layers or aspects of who we are: mentally, emotionally, and physically. Either simultaneously, or in steps or sequence - it didn’t matter. My goal was to address the full spectrum of our humanity for true and lasting health and healing.

As I did so, and began my education in classical homeopathy shortly after discovering it’s true healing potential, I was also motivated to seek healing for myself. There is an old saying or proverb, in which Jesus himself quotes in the Gospel of Luke 4:23, “Healer (Physician) heal thyself.” This concept essentially means that someone who wants to help or heal someone else should fix their own flaws or address their own needs before advising others. Of course there is none wiser than Jesus, but I felt guided by this saying, even if I didn’t have a relationship with him at that time.

That guidance eventually led me to be motivated to help my fellow men. And not just adults, but all males, throughout the life span.

Most people who seek homeopathy are women choosing it for either themselves or on behalf of their children. They are the “crunchy” moms who want the best health for themselves and their kids and they are willing to go the extra mile and seek out otherwise not very known therapies, such as homeopathy. We homeopaths owe much to you. You are what has kept us going for these past couple hundred of years.

But there is an underrepresented population that we must address too, and that is of men and their optimal health. It has been a personal mission of mine to address this, and to be of service to men, and boys, seeking their highest good. I don’t think I’m done when it comes to what that could mean for men’s holistic health, but it has led me to do very important work for men as a homeopath through my 17 years of practice thus far.

So much so, that I was able to be a featured speaker on this topic at the Joint American Homeopathic Conference in 2025. My presentation was called: Beyond the Veil: Healing the Fractured Self in Men’s Health. This presentation was motivated to address the reluctancy of men seeking aid or support, especially when it comes to mental or emotional health. As is the case for us all, past emotional wounds, traumas, or life experiences can lead to a fractured sense of self. Due to social conditioning, and many other factors, men have typically kept this inside, protected it from self and others, which is ultimately just a veil upholding a false image of self. My talk was aimed at addressing that and trying to break down barriers and removing the veil so that men can freely choose health and homeopathy for themselves.

This drive to address men’s health also led me recently to writing the featured article for the Summer 2026 issue of Homeopathy Today magazine, which is the periodical published by the National Center for Homeopathy. And that is the intent of this email newsletter sent to you today!

I wanted to share this with you in the hopes of continuing down that much needed path of breaking down barriers for men from seeking a healthy life for themselves and/or their families. I’ve attached the article here to this blog post for your reading. This article is titled Healing the Father Wound and is intended to address a deeper aspect of the psyche, dealing with the fragmented self that can arise from a fractured relationship with one’s father. This is applicable to both men and women (and girls and boys, too!), but my focus was on addressing this for men’s health in particular for this summer issue of the magazine. In it, you’ll find background information on what I mean about “the father wound” and that addressing it is not a one size fits all approach. This lends itself well to homeopathic healing as treatment is centered on the whole person. I discuss various cases in which this is handled in practice, along with my own testimonial to this end. There is also a helpful guide for practical help pertaining to prostate health, which is indeed a frequent occurrence of men in my practice.
